Now, I’ve always been inspired by gripping narratives. Drawing from the South Korean drama, “Hotel del Luna”, this painting paints a poignant moment featuring Jang Man-wol, the spellbinding character brought to life by Lee Ji-eun (이지은), affectionately known as “IU”. Picture this: A haunting figure, Jang Man-wol, tethered to a haunting past, wandering in search of solace. Can you feel it? That weight? Transitioning to the core scene, it depicts a figure in a fluttering headscarf, guiding a horse down a rustic road, tailing a wagon with a wooden coffin. Artistic Process and Style
Now, shifting our focus to the technique, my goal was a marriage of styles – a blend that felt right. The backdrop? Acrylic. This ensured contrast with the watercolor facial detail. Then there’s the pencil hatching, adding motion, vitality. Finally, the face detailed in watercolor, juxtaposed with pencil shading, gives depth, life. I’ve poured my heart into this, and the outcome, well, it feels like progress in my artistic sojourn.
